02 Hosting

The application and its database are hosted by:

  • Railway Corporation — Burlington, Vermont, USA (web application and PostgreSQL database)
  • InnoCraft Ltd / Matomo Cloud — Germany (audience analytics)
  • Resend, Inc. — San Francisco, California, USA (transactional emails)
  • Automattic Inc. / WordPress.com — San Francisco, California, USA (domain name registrar)

Data transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Railway and Resend are signatories. Your audience statistics (Matomo) never leave the European Union.

03 Data collected

3.1 Account data

  • Email address, handle, hashed password (Argon2id, never stored in plain text)
  • Registration date, last login date
  • Bio, declarative location, avatar (optional)
  • Display language preference

3.2 Activity data

  • List of saved records (« dig list »)
  • Comments posted under records
  • Follow relationships (followers/following)

3.3 Audience statistics (Matomo)

  • Anonymized IP address (last 2 bytes stripped before any storage)
  • User-Agent (browser, OS, screen size)
  • Pages visited, visit duration, click events
  • Country only (region, city and geographic coordinates anonymized)

No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no reconciliation with other sources. Tracking is strictly statistical and anonymous.

04 Purposes of processing

  • Provide the minimal & techno vinyl release tracking service
  • Personalize the weekly digest sent every Monday at 11:11 (Paris time)
  • Moderate community content (comments, reports)
  • Improve user experience via anonymized usage statistics
  • Detect and prevent abuse (spam, account fraud)

05 Legal basis

  • Contract performance (GDPR art. 6.1.b) — account, dig list, follows, comments
  • Legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6.1.f) — Matomo statistics in CNIL-exempt mode
  • Consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a) — email digest subscription (explicit opt-in at signup)

06 Retention periods

  • Active account data: as long as the account exists
  • Deleted account data: permanently erased within 30 days of deletion request
  • Matomo statistics: 13 months maximum, then automatically deleted
  • Railway server logs: 30 days
  • Backups: 30 days rolling, encrypted at rest

07 Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of your data
  • Right to rectification: correct erroneous data
  • Right to erasure: delete your account and data
  • Right to portability: retrieve your data in structured format (JSON)
  • Right to object: refuse statistical processing (see section 08)
  • Right to restriction: temporarily freeze processing

To exercise these rights, write to hello@minimaler.studio. A response will be provided within 30 days.

In case of unresolved dispute, you may file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL):

08 Audience statistics & opt-out

MINIMALER Radar uses Matomo Cloud, a European open-source analytics solution hosted in Germany, configured according to the CNIL's requirements for consent exemption:

  • No cookies are placed on your browser
  • Your IP address is anonymized before any processing (last 2 bytes stripped)
  • No cross-referencing with other sources or third parties
  • Strictly statistical purpose, never advertising
  • Retention limited to 13 months
  • Your browser's « Do Not Track » signal is respected

09 Cookies & local storage

MINIMALER Radar uses no tracking cookies. Only the following technical items are stored in your browser:

  • Session cookie (authentication): if you are logged in, a secure HttpOnly cookie maintains your session. Deleted on logout or after 90 days of inactivity.
  • localStorage: interface preferences (language, onboarding seen flag, analytics opt-out status). No personal data, deletable at any time via your browser settings.

10 Changes to this policy

This policy may be modified at any time to reflect technical or regulatory changes. The last update date is shown at the top of this page. In case of substantial modification (new type of data collected, new non-EU provider), you will be notified by email.
